Advanced Beginner: Comodo Cardigan Sweater

Scared of sweater knitting? SUPER MAXIMUM FREEDOM! Your yarn. Your gauge. Your size. No swatch needed!

The Comodo is one of the most flattering garments that I have seen a body wear. No matter your shape, this cardigan is sure to flatter. This light, knitted jacket is worn open and provides you with warming comfort on cool summer evenings. It keeps things casual with its wide swingy shape and long front panels.

The Comodo is seamless and knit top down, and the pattern, as always, gives you maximum knitting freedom. You decide what yarn you want to use and start knitting. You don’t even need to swatch!

The pattern designer, Nicola Susen, recommends using a light fingering, which we recommend Robin’s Promise Yarn’s Songbird yarn, and to use a needle that is slightly bigger than the yarn calls for to achieve an airy and flattering drape.

I have knit one of these beauties already in Songbird. I am knitting another is Robin’s Promise Yarn’s Two Sparrows DK. The Songbird, I used a US size 5 needle. With the Two Sparrows, I am using a US size 7.

I will be teaching this class virtually via Zoom. I hope you’ll join me for this fun class that will teach RLI, LLI, garter tab cast on, picking up stitches, and how to alternate skeins of hand-dyed yarn.
