The Flying Needles’ Cameo Yarn Trunk Show

May 18, Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm – Cameo Yarns Trunk Show! This Georgia indie dyer was born out of a desire to create small-batch, hand-dyed yarns in rich, saturated colorways. BEHOLD! Cameo Yarns’ James River Yarn Crawl EXCLUSIVE colorway, available only during the crawl and inspired by a photo of the James River.

Shea is a one-woman shop from the foothills of northwest Georgia and finds inspiration in both the complex beauty of nature and the bright and tarnished aspects of the big city.

Cameo Yarns will be at The Flying Needles for the duration of the James River Yarn Crawl.

WIPs, Wine & Song

May 20, Monday, 5 to 7 pm – Bring your Works In Progress, grab a glass of wine and come listen to the dulcet tones of Taylor Yandell, our in-house, classically trained tenor who also happens to knit & dye yarn. He has given us a few glimpses of his vocal talent during Open Stitching, so we can’t wait to see the sets he puts together for us during this special evening. Tickets are $15, which includes two glasses of wine. Seating is limited, so call us soon to nab your ticket at (757) 345-3655.

Taylor was selected for the prestigious VMEA All- Districts and All-VA Choirs and attended Chowan University for Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Dr. Gregory Parker. He has sung with The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond as well as other local churches in the area.
