Rhinebeck Fiber Festival, Oct. 16-18, 2020
Williamsburg, VA, November 3, 2019 – The Flying Needles invites you to pack your bags and join us for a ROADTRIP to the US’s largest Fiber Festival… the New York Sheep & Wool Festival at Rhinebeck!
As part of The Flying Needles three-year birthday, we set off on our maiden voyage to Rhinbeck. We had so much fun, we’ve got to do it again! From Oct. 16-18, we are headed via charter bus to upper New York for the Sheep & Wool Festival. With almost 300 vendors in 2019, this festival was attended by almost a record 35,000 people. And YOU are invited to 2020!
We pull out at 7 am on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, and return around 7 pm on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020. You will have one full day at Rhinebeck to peruse all the vendors and take in the sights & sounds. We’ll be staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Poughkeepsie, where our breakfasts are included.

Cost
Pricing is ALL INCLUSIVE of transportation, lodging, breakfast both Saturday & Sunday, tickets to enter the Sheep & Wool Festival, & drop-off and pickup at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.

Single-person occupancy (1 king bed) (only 8 available) $935
Payment
All tickets must be fully paid by 7 pm Sept. 16, 2020. The Flying Needles will accept a 50% deposit on your ticket with the full amount due by 7 pm Sept. 16, 2020. After deposits are made, The Flying Needles will accept monthly payments. Tickets not paid by 7 pm Sept. 16 will forfeit deposits. All tickets purchased are non-refundable. (Customer loyalty points cannot be accrued or used for The Flying Needles’ special events.)

9:25 am – Pickup in Springfield at the Franconia/Springfield Metro Station (Driver change)
9:55 am – Resume travels
12:45 – 2:45 pm Stop for lunch (Christiana Mall, Newark, DE)
2:45 pm – Load the Bus
3:00 pm – Resume travel

FAQs
What about meals? Breakfast is included with the cost of your ticket for both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Lunch can be purchased Saturday at the Sheep & Wool Festival, however lines will be long, so eating during off-peak times is encouraged. Dinner Saturday also is on your own, but there are restaurants around the hotel, although they are not within walking distance. Delivery or use of Lyft/Uber/Cab is encouraged. There is a small restaurant at the hotel with a limited menu.
What if I have mobility issues?
The Dutchess County Fairgrounds are fairly level and paved. There are battery-powered scooters (similar to those found at grocery stores) for rent at the bus entrance. As this is a chartered bus trip, you must be able to embark and disembark the bus steps.
Can I request to share my room with someone? YES! Just provide your room sharing request at the time you are registering.
Will we be late returning? All travel times are based upon ideal traffic conditions & travelers loading and returning to the bus on time. Any traffic backups or weather conditions can affect arrival and return times.
What if there’s bad weather? Rhinebeck Sheep & Wool Festival occurs rain or shine.
What about lunch on travel days? We will be stopping for lunch on both travel days. Friday, we will be stopping at Christiana Mall in Newark, Del. Sunday, we will stop in Baltimore at White Marsh Mall for lunch. You can see restaurant options at and around both malls at their respective website’s.
Can I bring snacks & drinks on the bus? Bringing snacks and drinks is encouraged!
Can I bring food into the fairgrounds at Rhinebeck? YES! You can pack a lunch and take drinks into the fair grounds. There are picnic tables to sit and eat.
What if I have to cancel? Once registered, there are no refunds. However, you can transfer your trip to another person (any monetary transactions are your responsibility). All we need is their registration information.
What do I need to register? Everyone must submit a registration form, which includes you providing an Emergency Contact, emergency contact cell phone. Should anything happen to you on this trip, we require a contact name & number for emergencies.
Do I have to buy a ticket to get into the fiber festival? No. Your ticket is included with your registration. Tickets will be handed out to everyone upon arrival at Rhinebeck.
Restrooms?
There is a restroom on the bus.
Wifi on the bus?
YES! There are wifi and charging stations on the bus.
Where do I park?
You are welcome to leave your car in the parking lot of Williamsburg Crossing Shopping Center, but please know you do so at your own risk. If you do leave your car, please park near where the bus is picking up. The Flying Needles is not responsible for vehicles parked at any pick-up sites.
