Williamsburg, VA, April 16, 2019 –The Flying Needles invites you to pack your bags and join us for a ROAD TRIP to the largest Fiber Festival in the U.S. … Rhinebeck!

As part of The Flying Needles three-year birthday, we’re taking the party on the ROAD! From Oct. 18-20, we are headed via charter bus to upper New York for the Sheep & Wool Festival. With 275 vendors last year, this festival is attended by almost 20,000 people. And YOU are invited!

We pull out at 7:30 am on Friday, Oct. 18, and return around 5:45 pm on Sunday, Oct. 20. You will have one full day at Rhinebeck to peruse all the vendors and take in the sights & sounds. We’ll be staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Poughkeepsie, where our breakfasts are included.

Pricing is ALL INCLUSIVE of transportation, lodging, breakfast both Saturday & Sunday, tickets to enter the Sheep & Wool Festival, & drop-off and pickup at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.

All tickets must be purchased by 7 pm Sept. 18. The Flying Needles will accept a 50% deposit on your ticket with the full amount due by 7 pm Sept. 18, 2019. 7 am – Begin loading the bus
7:30 am – Depart from The Flying Needles parking lot, 5251 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, Va
12:30 -2:30 pm Stop for lunch & Loop Yarn Shop, 1914 South Street Philadelphia, PA
2:30 pm – Load the Bus
2:45 pm – Depart Philadelphia & resume travel
5:45 pm – Arrive at Courtyard Marriott Poughkeepsie

Oct. 19, Saturday
6 to 8 am – Breakfast, Courtyard Marriott Poughkeepsie
8:15 am – Load the bus
8:30 am – Depart for Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Rhinebeck
9 am – Arrive at Rhinebeck Sheep & Wool Festival, Dutchess County Fairgrounds
5 pm – Load the bus
5:15 pm – Return to Courtyard Marriott
5:45 pm – Arrive at Courtyard Marriot Poughkeepsie

5:30 to 7:15 am – Breakfast, Courtyard Marriott Poughkeepsie

FAQs

What about meals? Breakfast is included with the cost of your ticket for both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Breakfast will be served from 6 to 8:15 am on Saturday and 5:30 to 7:15 on Sunday. Lunch can be purchased Saturday at the Sheep & Wool Festival, however lines will be long, so eating during off-peak times is encouraged. Dinner Saturday also is on your own, but there are restaurants around the hotel, although they are not within walking distance. Delivery or use of Lyft/Uber/Cab is encouraged.

Can I request to share my room with someone? YES! Just provide your room sharing request at the time you are registering.

Will we be late returning? All travel times are based upon ideal traffic conditions & travelers loading and returning to the bus on time. Any traffic backups or weather conditions can affect arrival and return times.

What if there’s bad weather? Rhinebeck Sheep & Wool Festival occurs rain or shine.

What about lunch on travel days? We will be stopping for lunch on both travel days. Friday, we will be stopping in Philadelphia and at Loop Yarn Shop. Sunday, we will stop in Baltimore and Lovely Yarns Yarn Shop. Both have restaurants around the yarn shops.

Can I bring snacks? Bringing snacks is encouraged!

What if I have to cancel? Once registered, there are no refunds. However, you can transfer your trip to another person (any monetary transactions are your responsibility). All we need is their registration information.

What do I need to register? Everyone must submit a registration form, which includes you providing Emergency Contact information. Should anything happen to you on this trip, we require a contact name & number for emergencies.

Restrooms?There is a restroom on the bus.

Wifi on the bus? YES! There are wifi and charging stations on the bus.

Where can I park my car? You are welcome to leave your car in the parking lot of Williamsburg Crossing Shopping Center, but please know you do so at your own risk. If you do leave your car, please park near the bus pick up.

Can we pick up in other locations?If there are 10 or more people in either Richmond or outside Fredericksburg, we will accommodate pickups near the travel route.
