We’ve added quite a few new knitters to the craft with our beginning knitting classes. We wanted to provide a next level option for these knitters, thus the Block of the Month was born. From Laura Aylor’s Lizard Ridge Afghan, this first block is a RIOT of color! Guest Instructor and S&B knit night ringleader MaryAnne Teal will get start you on your way to your first blanket in one session - from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9.

Class Level: Beginner
Skills required: Must be able to knit, purl, and cast on
What you will learn: backwards “e” cast on, knit from both ends of a ball of yarn, short rows with wraps and turns
Materials: 1 skein of Noro Kureyon or Silk Garden, Size 8 & 10 knitting needles
