Looking for a quick project for that baby shower that appeared out of nowhere? Sure, you could make a full-size baby blanket, but a lovey will be twice as cute and take half the time! This class will teach not only a basic Granny square (session 1), but also the very basics of amigurumi stuffed toys (session 2). You’ll walk away with a quick, unique project that will stand out in the piles of onesies and toys. Crochet Queen Jo Emanuelson will teach this 2-session class 2 to 4 pm Fridays, Jan. 12 & 19; OR 2 to 4 pm Thursdays, Feb. 8 & 15.

Class Level: Adventurous beginner
Skills required: Some practice with single, half-double, and double crochet stitches
What you will learn: Working in the round, creating and assembling amigurumi stuffed toys (heads and arms for this application)
Materials: Worsted weight Yarn, at least 300yds (we recommend superwash wool or acrylic), various colors (70 yds for stuffed animal, the rest for the blanket portion), J-10 (5.75mm) and F-5 (3.75mm) hooks, yarn needle
HOMEWORK: Practice rows of single, half-double, double, and triple crochet stitches
