Dear YOU! Thank you for your interest in The Flying Needles. I would imagine something from my website, Instagram or Facebook piqued your attention. Before you choose to buy anything from me, I invite you to know a bit more about me and my shop, and our stance on diversity and inclusion.
I hope this letter clears up any doubts you may have.
I am a white woman raised by a single mom with a deadbeat dad. Our family of three was dependent on social services assistance as the value of a woman’s salary was nowhere near a man’s in the 60s and 70s. She did the best she could. I grew up in an elementary school that was 90% black. I was a free lunch kid. My earliest mentor was my beautiful principal, Mr. Peterson, an African American man, who taught me how to shake someone’s hand properly.
I’ve come a long way baby. But not without an indomitable will to overcome my circumstances of birth.
Please hear me when I say this to you: I CORDIALLY INVITE YOU to come see me and Team Flying Needles at 5251 John Tyler Hwy, Suite 11. Yes, YOU! All are welcome at The Flying Needles.
If that’s not clear enough, let me state it this way.
All people from all walks of life are invited to join us at The Flying Needles regardless of race, size, sexual orientation, gender identity or faith. The Flying Needles strives to treat and welcome everyone equally.
We hope to see you soon. To see our shop policies CLICK HERE.
